Customer Book Reviews

Words can really not explain how much I loved this book. The last book in this series, 'Omega', wrapped up the storyline that had been running over the last five books, so you can quite safely come in to this series, not having read any of the previous Chess Team books. I feel, though, that the emotional kick of this book is all the more stronger HAVING read the previous adventures. I seriously laughed, cried, held my breath, got angry - for what could be described as a simple adventure novel, 'Savage' is a thrill ride you will both want to get off and at the same time, wish it would never end! I eagerly await the next instalment! Thank you to Jeremy Robinson and Sean Ellis for the roller coaster!!

This is the first Chess Team book to occur post-Ridley Saga, and is designed to be much more stand alone. As such, it makes a good entry point into the series for new fans

I wasn't 100% sure how this book would work, what with all the loose ends being tied up in Omega, however, I was pleasantly surprised, which shouldn't come as a shock as both these authors have a habit of writing good, fun books. Savage was no exception, it is hard to write anything about the book without revealing any spoilers, so let me just say, this book is fantastically awesome. Everyone should go buy it, read it and enjoy. I don't think you have to read the other books in the chess team series for this one, everything is explained in a way that makes it very easy to enjoy it without worrying about reading the others, you also don't feel like you are missing out. I lost sleep, which I'd gladly do again. It keeps the reader in the story from beginning to end, always wondering, questioning. Tears ensue, cursing and relief. Just go enjoy it. I think this may be my favourite book in the chess team series. I will read anything these two write, they make one heck of a writing duo.

Savage, a new direction for the Chess Team, does not disappoint!! King and his team are up to their ears in danger, as usual. From America to Europe to Africa and back, Savage is a fun, action-packed ride! This one gets pretty intense for the team, so buckle up. If you've not read Chess Team books before, you can start with this one, but you may want to read all the previous ones as well, starting with Prime. Jeremy Robinson and Sean Ellis have done well with this one. Check it out!!!

Once again Jeremy Robinson rules the adventure genre of writers

By Forreston Jul 23, 2014

Another excellent Chess Team adventure. Jeremy Robinson and Sean Ellis weave a story of wonder, science, futuristic technology and edge of the seat drama. The individual personalities of each Chess Team member are explored in a way that exposes their weaknesses, strengths and dedication to fighting evil and protecting the innocent. A very good story all around that splinters into multiple dramatic events and challenges that culminate into a complete story. The Chess Team books just keep getting better as do the readers emotional attachment to each member of the Chess Team. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone that enjoys very entertaining adventure stories and Jeremy Robinson's books

A gripping and amazing story you just have to read, The story picks up where Omega left off, but Omega brought a story to and end and Savage opens up new worlds to explore. Of all the Chess Team books I thunk this one is one of my favorites, it had me on the edge of my seat, introduced some newness to the story and had me gasping, crying and flipping pages as fast as I could just to see what happens next. Both authors are fabulous authors and the story blended their writing so well and took Chess Team to another level. No spoilers here but all I'll say is you need to read this one !!!

Fantastic read but not as good as some of the previous books.

By Nilesh Nimkaron Aug 06, 2014

Note: This is the same review I posted on goodreads. I have mixed feeling about this book. Being a huge fan of Jeremy and specially Chess Team I loved this book but felt it was not at par with the previous books. The story felt looks and did not have enough threads that tied it together. The threat this time was not big enough to keep me on the edge of my seat as opposed to the threat in the previous books. The science felt shooed in and was largely a mcguffin that was put in the story largely to satisfy the used rather than anything that tied back to the story. The cave with creatures did not have actual bearings on the story and could have been anything and did not affect the story at all. The history and the science element, which are always the central element of all the previous books and always tie in with each other in fascinating ways (Pulse, Threshold, All chess novels actually)are poorly thought out and do not tie in together. They are never expanded on at all. The villain is a one dimensional character with no explanation for her motives. The book does make for a thrilling read in bits and pieces, it is a chess team novel after all, however I cannot rate it at the high bar that the previous books have set

All I can say is, that was so not right! Savage by Jeremy Robinson not only kept me reading but it also kept me hitting the box of tissues! Action packed and emotionally draining, this has to be the best Chess Team book yet!

WOW!!!!!Received this book from the author, Jeremy Robinson, for a review..Whether a good review or bad, but I had to write one..I have read all of Mr. Robinson's books, especially all the Chess Teams novels. When I received Savage, I was floored.. An amazing read.If you have never read any of Mr. Robinson's books, let me tell you.He puts you almost in the shoes of his characters and you start to get emotionally involved in storyline.Savage is about The Chess Team.A group of Ex-Navy Seals, Marines , Army and an ex-president of the United States of America as their handler, known as Deep Blue. The Chess Team consists of King, Queen, Bishop, Rook and Knight,.They fight anything from golems, monsters, bigfoot and so on.I expected a lot from Savage and I got it..I laughed, got angry and cried for 2 hours..Like I said emotionally involved with the characters lives..This is definitely a must read.Don't want to give too much away , but King goes out looking for a stolen nuclear bomb and it goes downhill from there..This time there are dinosaurs and they are NOT nice..Get the book, you're gonna love it.. FANTASTIC, AWESOME, DRAMATIC AND Dinosaurs..Who can resist!!!!

Come on, Jeremy Robinson and Sean Ellis! You guys put me through the wringer with this one. It has taken me a while since I finished this book to be ready to review it. I wanted to be able to talk about it without grumbling at the authors. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this story. King is back. The team is back. There is some friction because of that. Saving the world, it's what Chess Team does. They do it well and expect no recognition in return. This time, it's an African nation, oil reserves, a lake that petrified anything that touches it, and secret tunnels left by a prehistoric civilization, oh, and a suitcase nuke. There is a death that will turn you inside out. Problems in the team, caused by King. Tech that makes you wish you had tons of money. And the interactions are tightly written. Each team member works through their part of the story, coming together at the end for an amazing finish. I loved this roller coaster of a read. Get it!

I am a big fan of the Chess Team series, and when the previous storyline concluded in the novel 'Prime,' I was excited to see where the series was headed. I could not have been more pleased with the new direction. The story is exciting from the very beginning, and goes places I didn't expect. Considering this is a Jeremy Robinson book I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was. If you haven't read any of the previous stories this is a good place to start, but I recommend reading the others first to get the full emotional effect the authors are hoping for. I can't wait for the next one, so please Mr. Robinson, hurry!

Robinson has hit the ball out of the park with SAVAGE.

By Jason Keenon Aug 07, 2014

I have yet to read a Jeremy Robinson book that has left me wanting. How to install sss r3 program. This is no exception to that. A great, diverse set of main characters and a real-life story about the troubles plaguing Africa, this story starts off strongly and doesn't let up. It is a smart, fast-paced action adventure that has prompted me to go back and dive right into the very start of the chess team series - the characters deserve that much at least. Once again - Robinson has hit the ball out of the park with SAVAGE.

Another awesome book from Jeremy Robinson (and Sean Ellis). The action is almost non-stop and at times brutal. If you have read the Chess team novels, this is a must read. It has a little different tone than the previous Chess team novels but considering that the story line that spanned 4 or 5 novels ended in the previous novel, you knew that there were going to be changes in future Chess team stories. With that being said, I still loved this book. I don't like to give anything away about a book (and ruin someone else enjoyment) but I will say one thing about the book. It has probably one of the most awesome emotional moments I have ever read (It was tough to read but it was so important to the story). That is all I will say about the story. If you do decide to buy this book, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Happy reading!

I started this series without any expectations. I had just finished the series The Event Group Thrillers by David L. Golemon and was pleasantly surprised by the genre so I quickly looked up similar style books. After starting a few series by popular writers, I found that I was not drawn into the world or characters of the super duper elite fighting teams of detailed Special Forces. I knew that there had to be something that I could emurge myself into while carpooling to work on my van-pool. I soon found this series first book, Prime. I immediately found the characters individually entertaining and uniquely robust. I really enjoyed all the locations that the team visits and the dangerous threats they must overcome together as a team. From ancient folklore to futuristic science, the team overcomes staggering odds that seem to project them into their next mission. With state of the art weapons and pure military instincts; Jack Sigler leads 'Queen', 'Rook', 'Bishop' and 'Knight' across the globe in action packed, after action packed adventures. Each member of the team has his or her own unique set of character traits that is key to their individual call sign. These call signs are based on the game of chess. The villains and pawns are believable and help shoot you into 'could be' and 'what ifs'. The chess piece names are perfect for the maneuvering of the characters the author defines through the team

Do yourself a giant favor and grab this and the rest of the Chess Team books today. A thrilling, breathless 5 star read.

From the Description: For more than a hundred million years, the Dark Continent has kept a savage secret. While on the trail of a stolen tactical nuclear weapon, Jack Sigler, callsign: King, and his black ops Chess Team, answer a cry for help. The Democratic Republic of the Congo is on the verge of exploding into another bloody civil war that will engulf all of Africa and put millions at risk, a crisis too politically volatile for any outside nation to touch. As the team, unfettered by political constraints, deploys across the globe, the threats spin out of control. A search for the Congo’s missing president becomes a quest to solve a century old mystery, and uncover a secret that powerful men will kill to protect. A mission to rescue a team of scientists from violent revolutionaries devolves into a desperate run through the jungle, pursued by both modern man and ancient beast. And the effort to stop a revolution becomes a brutal contest, pitting King against the most cunning and sadistic foe he has ever faced—a deadly mercenary known as the Red Queen. King has traveled around the globe and across time to protect the people he loves. Now, he must face a harsh truth: he cannot save everyone. Jeremy Robinson and Sean Ellis, the bestselling team of The Brainstorm Trilogy and Prime return with an action-packed tale rivaling the best of Matthew Reilly and James Rollins. Savage is a fresh re-launch for Jack Sigler and the Chess Team, so if you've never tried a Jack Sigler thriller, this is the perfect point to jump in and enjoy the chaos. And if you're a long time fan, welcome back, and prepare yourself.. I have been a huge Chess Team fan since I read the first book in the series. Savage has the Team spread out trying to save the lives of millions in the Congo from a megalomaniac called the Red Queen. The story is fast paced and leaves the reader holding their breath on the edge of their seat. With nods to Jules Verne and Jurassic Park this book is full of all the things I've come to love about a Jeremy Robinson thriller. There are soo many things I want to say about this book but I don't want to give anything away!! I finished the last page by exclaiming out loud NO! I can't wait for the next thrill ride! Do yourself a giant favor and grab this and the rest of the Chess Team books today. A thrilling, breathless 5 star read.

Another great read by Robinson. This one has Jack Sigler, King, and his Chess team searching for a backpack nuclear bomb. They are in the Middle East and have the bad guys in sight. Using the latest technology and with Deep Blue and Aleman on the boards they find the nuke. Just as they are getting ready to close in a chopper appears with shooters at the door. The chopper moves faster than they can lands then takes off and disappears. Jack and his team get to the site to find five jihadists dead. Blown apart and the nuke is gone. Jack and the others are scratching their heads. None of them have any idea who was in the chopper and who now has that nuke. We also have the President of the Congo in London. He's looking for Stanleys diary when he discovered Livingston in Africa. Pages were missing from the diary and the President is trying to find them to help his impoverished country. His bodyguards are killed and he's taken captive. Who these men are he has no idea. So begins another great Chess read. This one has King, Queen, Knight, Rook, Asya, Deep Blue, Aleman, one insane former French intelligence officer, murder, a Rook who makes the ultimate sacrifice or so it seems, a Knight who is seriously wounded, the nuke, a beautiful lady scientist known to King and another super read by Robinson. Another well earned Five Stars

A thrilling ride, though I admit it got me a little bamboozled at parts when it was all science. Regardless, I enjoyed the book very much, just as I enjoy most of Jeremy Robinson's books (except the zombies, I personally don't like zombies). I can't wait for the next one! Love the chess team.

First, it is worthy of what I have previously referenced as the Robinson Star..the 6th star rather than a 5 star review. Second, shame on all the reviews that give away the plot lines. Lastly, let me point out that Jeremy and Sean have pulled together a dynamic story that spans a few continents and while it asks for some faith that the story will come together, it is brilliant in its continuity without getting bogged down in minutae. Hundreds of pages could have been spent on the underground areas, the capital region, or even the beginning of the book, but these gentlemen brought us through it with deft writing that keeps everyone on the edge of their seat. There is one warning though. If you cannot suspend a little disbelief, believe in the unbelievable, or are incapable of understanding that there are things that cannot be explained in the world skip the book, give it a 5 star review, and just write, 'I am not capable of fun!'

I'm looking forward to reading Cannibal, next book on the series. This book is (at least for me) darker than Omega. I liked all the stories related to The Congo and Africa the most. I've really enjoyed reading this book, specifically all the mystery with the Lake Natron and the caves and tunnels within. Bishop took an important role on this book, which was pretty nice for me since I really like this character. I do recommend this book!

Is there no one that Jeremy Robinson can collaborate with and not tell a great story. Great action and characters and once again the Chess team is on top of things. I stopped reading another book midway because this sucked me in after 10 pages.
